Comfort Clause

Here at Ideal Massage, we have a “THERAPEUTIC BOUNDARY ” (subjective per therapist and per client). This helps us navigate away from any work that could be interpreted as sexual. Coinciding with how we drape our clients.

We will step away from any actions verbal or physically harassing by nature.

We will remind clients of where they are and allow them to correct what we find to be inappropriate behaviors “ONE TIME”.

We are “REQUIRED” to immediately end any service we have deemed unacceptable, inappropriate, or uncomfortable

We are caring and understanding by nature. But we will never sacrifice our space!

Zero Tolerance Policy

What form of payments are accepted?

Cash, Credit Card, Gift Certificates, Health Spending Accounts, Flex Spending Accounts

Should I make a reservation?

Yes! Planning ahead allows for us to accommodate your needs. We are open every day except Tuesdays with a live calendar for you to secure your appointment.

What should I wear to my massage?

The spa is all about comfort so come in whatever attire is relaxing. For a massage, you will be getting undressed and under the sheet and blanket so whatever you can get in and out of comfortably is the best option. For clients with long hair, it’s a good idea to bring a hair tie or clip to allow full access to the neck and back.

Do I have to get undressed for my massage?

We encourage all our clients to undress to their comfort level. Our therapists are trained to give quality bodywork at any level of dress, including fully clothed! Most of our clients choose to undress completely, and our professional draping will only expose the areas we are working on, keeping the rest of your body covered throughout the massage. Our top priority is your safety and comfort.

When do I show up for my appointment?

For new clients, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a brief intake form. For returning clients, arrive right on time!

How much should I tip?

Tipping is customary in the massage industry and always greatly appreciated! Our massage therapists work on commission and do not receive the full price of the session. The typical range for gratuity is between 15% and 25% of the price of the service, or around $15-$30 depending on the service.

What if I am self conscious on the table?

That’s okay! Everybody has their own insecurities, and we appreciate the trust required to be on our table. We hope that with each session, you become more and more comfortable. Our job is to ensure your comfort above all else and to find and relieve any pain. We see bodies of all shapes and sizes, and the only details we focus on are the muscles we are trained to heal.

After the Massage what should I expect?

The therapist will gently end the session and quietly exit the room. A quick conversation regarding any feedback for further bodywork will be discussed at check out and notated in your client file. You also have the option at that time to book your next appointment.

Is It safe to get a massage right after an Injury?

No. We recommend waiting at least 48 hours after an acute injury due to possible swelling in the area. When you have swollen tissue, it can be counterproductive to massage. You should ice any swollen areas and see a doctor if the swelling persists.

Can I go to the restroom during a massage?

Absolutely. Your therapist will ask you prior to your treatment if you would like to use the restroom. If at any time during the treatment you need to use the restroom again, just ask.

I’m pregnant. When can I receive Massage?

After 16weeks you are safe to receive massage.

(Must be 16 weeks pregnant or further to receive massage). A woman not only experiences physical changes while pregnant, but emotional changes as well. A prenatal massage will help ease discomforts that arise with the ever-changing pregnant body, such as swelling, sciatica, back pain, neck pain, and hip pain. A prenatal massage will not only calm and relax the mother, but will also calm and relax the baby. We only use natural scents for aromatherapy, but often any scent can be offensive to the sensitive pregnant nose.

If you are experiencing heightened sensitivity please inform us ahead of time so we can take all precautions to ensure the most positive experience for you.

Some things to consider:
  • We are only able to see mothers sixteen weeks or further in pregnancy. It is best to resume massage after this portion of the pregnancy has passed. Please call our clinic if you have questions.
  • When making appointments, please specify the number of weeks pregnant.
  • If you're breastfeeding, for your comfort please pump/feed beforehand
  • The time frame considered for postpartum is 6 to 8 weeks after birth up to a year.
How are prenatal massages positioned?

Position is key to a great prenatal service! And we know that! Let's face it, Mom is already on an everchanging level of un-comfortable right? We offer two styles of massage traditional side-lying, or utilizing our 10' pregnancy bolster that allows mom to lay face down with comfy foam cutouts for baby and breast. Each option are great, and we encourage you to speak to your therapist and determine the best position of your body as the massage progresses.

Can I alert my therapist if I need to adjust?

Yes! Please do! We will be checking in on you and baby throughout the massage. However, you know your body best, if something doesn't feel right we can adapt our bolstering to you! We want nothing more than an exceptional monthly experience for you as you grow and shift!

Bodywork may include:
  • Abdominal massage
  • Breast massage
  • Hip alignment
  • Stretching techniques
  • Full body relaxation

It is important to provide young people with accessible mental health support, and massage therapy to cope with stress and tension in their growing body. With a minor consent form filled out in the office, those under 18 can receive massage therapy, guidance on stretches, or other bodywork that could aid in healing. Parents are invited into the treatment room or can wait on-site. If you would like a copy of the form before your appointment, please request it here: helloidealmassage@gmail.com
